Hardwood floors going in yesterday and today! Also the driveway, porch and patio were poured. Drywall touch ups happening and railings delivered.
Filled a semi and now the old house is empty. Got it all cleaned after the movers left.
I also went to the new house. Today was granite and electrical day!
They also better get all the drywall mud off the garage floor!
Pam and I got the last of our things boxed up at the old house for the movers tomorrow.
New house is supposed to get granite tomorrow and start plumbing and electrical fixtures Wednesday. Also supposed to get a driveway here soon.
Kids are digging the hotel pool!
Movers are coming on Tuesday but we are headed to the hotel starting tonight. Pretty much all packed up here.
Stopped by the house today and gutters are going up.
Bought a new basketball hoop yesterday for the new house.
So…writing this here just as a means of documenting to remember.
We found out that our next door neighbors have been fighting M/I about mold. They closed on their house on Dec 31. Shortly after they saw black mold on the floor joists in the basement. M/I had it professionally mitigated.
Then the neighbors samples air moisture in their wall cavities and it was 21%. Higher than what they say is the max allowable of 20%.
Talked to our builder and his story is similar to the neighbors but that moisture in wall cavities is normal for winter construction. They said the houses need a good year to dry out.
More to come as we learn more.
All done today. Big progress! We also moved up closing to March 30 because the moving company couldn’t move us in until April 3 if we closed on the 31st.
Cabinents are in these boxes!
